Apprendly RolePlays can be seamlessly integrated into your TalentLMS learning platform using SCORM packages, direct play links, or iFrame embeds.
SCORM integration (recommended for progress tracking)
TalentLMS fully supports SCORM, allowing for automatic tracking of learner progress within Apprendly RolePlays. This method provides detailed information about scores and completion status directly within your TalentLMS reports.
Steps for SCORM Integration:
- Create Your RolePlay: If you haven’t already, create the desired RolePlay within the Apprendly platform.
- Access Your Dashboard: Navigate to your Apprendly dashboard.
- Download the SCORM Package: Locate the RolePlay you wish to embed. Click the “Share” button and select “Download SCORM.”
- Upload to TalentLMS:
- Log in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or Instructor.
- Go to “Courses” and either create a new course or edit an existing one.
- Click “Add” within the course content area, and from the drop-down list, choose “SCORM | xAPI | cmi5.”
- Click “Upload a SCORM, xAPI or cmi5 ZIP file” and select the downloaded ZIP file from your local drive.
- From the “Show as” drop-down list, choose whether you want your content to be “Embedded” (within the TalentLMS page) or show up as a “Pop-up dialog box” (in a new window).
- In the “Size” section, you can set the “Width” and “Height” of your content in pixels if desired.
- Click “Save” to add the uploaded content to your course.
- Test the RolePlay: Launch the RolePlay from within TalentLMS to ensure it functions correctly and that progress is being tracked.
Play link integration (for simple access)
If you prefer a simpler approach or if direct tracking isn’t critical within TalentLMS, you can embed Apprendly RolePlays using direct play links. While this method doesn’t provide automatic progress tracking within TalentLMS, you can still monitor learner activity within the Apprendly platform.
Steps for Play Link Integration:
- Create Your RolePlay: Ensure your RolePlay is created in Apprendly.
- Access Your Dashboard: Go to your Apprendly dashboard.
- Get the Share Link: For the desired RolePlay, click the “Share” button and select “Get share link.”
- Add as Web Content in TalentLMS:
- Log in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or Instructor.
- Go to “Courses” and either create a new course or edit an existing one.
- Click “Add” within the course content area, select “Standard Content,” and then choose “Web content.”
- In the “Web address (URL)” field, paste the copied share link.
- Configure any other desired settings, then click “Publish unit.”
- Test the Link: Verify that the RolePlay opens correctly within TalentLMS.
iFrame embed integration
TalentLMS provides a specific iFrame unit type, allowing you to directly embed the RolePlay within your course content for a seamless experience.
Steps for iFrame Embed Integration:
- Create Your RolePlay: Ensure your RolePlay is created in Apprendly.
- Access Your Dashboard: Navigate to your Apprendly dashboard.
- Get the iFrame Code: For the desired RolePlay, click the “Share” button and select “Get iFrame code.”
- Embed in TalentLMS:
- Log in to your TalentLMS account as an Administrator or Instructor.
- Go to “Courses” and either create a new course or edit an existing one.
- Click “Add” within the course content area, select “Standard Content,” and then choose “iFrame.”
- In the “Web address (URL)” field, paste the src URL from your iFrame code (e.g., if your iFrame code is
<iframe src="YOUR_SHARE_LINK_HERE" ...></iframe>, you would copyYOUR_SHARE_LINK_HERE). TalentLMS will handle the iFrame creation based on this URL. - Adjust the width and height attributes in the unit options if needed.
- Click “Publish unit.”
- Test the Embed: Verify that the RolePlay displays and functions correctly within TalentLMS.
TinCan/xAPI/cmi5 support
TalentLMS natively supports xAPI/cmi5 content. Apprendly RolePlays can be downloaded as a cmi5/xAPI package from the Share menu in your dashboard. It works the same way as SCORM: learner progress, score, and pass/fail status are reported back to your LMS.
NB: In order for xAPI/cmi5 to track results, you need to enable this in settings. Go to Account & Settings -> Integrations -> xAPI, switch to Enabled, and save.
